Farm fresh products and artisan quilted goods from your neighbors
We can't say we are organic because the USDA won't let us. I'm sure if we paid consultants and lawyers and waited a few years they would.
So we say we're an "ourganic" farm. We use our best efforts to make sure you're not eating things that don't belong in your body. We don't use synthetic pesticides on the crops. We feed the soil plant based compost and natural amendments. We stay away from those forever chemicals you find on produce at the grocery stores.
That means we're as likely to vacuum pests off the plants as we are to use an organic pesticide like BT or spinosad. We weed by hand rather than spray for weeds. We use a lot of manual labor where big ag will use machines. We're happy to do it, because we eat this food too.Â
